THE SIGNIFICANCE AND PRACTICE OF BASIC LIFE SUPPORT(¥°)

Abstract
Basic life support(BLS) is that particular phase of emergency cardiac care that either pre-vents circulatory or respiratory arrest or(insufficiency) through prompt recognition and .i:ntervention, or externally supports the circulation and ventilation of a victim of cardiac or respiratory arrest through cardiopulmonary support(primary CPR) is to provide oxygen to the brain, heart, and other vital organs until appropriate, definitve medical treatment (advanced cardiac life support ; secondary CPR) can restore normal heart and ventilatory action. The speedy and effective performance of CPR are imperative to the success rate of CPR. Early bystander CPR intervention and fast emergency medical system(EMS) activation are therefore essential in improving survial - rates and good neurological recovery rates.
The enforcement and extension of CPR training education to the general public are also im-portant to increase the survival rates of cardio-pulmonary arrest victims by several kinds of ac-cidents, and other diseases as well as cardiac diseases. Therefore, we intend to review the sig=_ nificance of basic life support, resuscitation. techiques for each emergency situation, safety in performing CPR and importance of prompt emergency medical system activation for per sons(medical students, training ,doctors, nurses, health care and public safety personnel etc.) who need the CPR training education.
